[ Left outside Clem's door are two wrapped packages. one is a fancy swiss army knife and one is a bundle pack of different comic books, enough variety for Clementine to hopefully find something she likes, then start seeking out issues on her own from either the library or the closet. There's a note, too: ]
Clementine,
It's hard to know back home how close or far we are from Christmas. So, while we're here, enjoy this. One practical thing, and something you can hopefully enjoy. And I mean really enjoy. Get lost in a good story every now and then. You deserve it.
Merry Christmas,
Michonne
PS: Wonder Woman is pretty great.
[ Michonne knocks, then quickly leaves so that the gifts are a surprise. She knows she can't ask Clementine to just be a kid again, it might not ever work that way. But she can do this, at least. ]
[Clementine hears the knock to her door, pushing herself up to her feet. It has been a long event. She feels the effects of it all over, strained in her muscles. She's tense even as she opens the door but she relaxes when she sees the two packages in front of her. Honestly, she can't remember the last time she got a gift. It's not like anyone can really celebrate Christmas when they're trying to survive.
She picks up the packages, pulling them into her room with her. It's the room with the walls, with the names of the dead and the gone up on them.
She picks up the note first and then smiles because Michonne gave her her gift. Michonne was her secret santa, and she knows her so that's pretty cool. She picks up the one gift, unwrapping it, pulling the knife from it and unfolding each and every little piece with a tiny smile. It's something she wishes she had in her own world, because of how practical it is, how much she'd be able to use it to survive. She's never going to be without this now.
The other- The other she unwraps and then stares at the bundle with a tiny smile as she skims through each and every book in front of her. She once was in a comic book store at Carver's place, but there wasn't time to get to read any of them. She'd wanted too. She'd wanted to just stop and breathe and flip through some pages, but- but she had work to do, and now they're leaving the area completely if she's ever thrown back there. Not that there's time to read ever.
She picks up one of the comic books, the one about Wonder Woman, and she smiles, pulling that to her and flipping through the pages.
It's a beautiful way to escape the event, escape it all.]
